Clean Hands, Happy Mama

Ok, if I promise to learn a new craft,
would you indulge me just one more time?

Problem:
Boys that either forget to wash their hands
OR
use entirely too much soap.

Solution:
Super size bottle of soap for a mere $1
AND
a sweet reminder to wash your hands.

Because after all,
clean hands equal a happy Mama!

God's blessings on your afternoon, Sarah :D

Hand Sanitizer Take Two

My sweet friend Allison is doing her nursery with monkeys... CUTE!
When she saw the Monkey Hand Sanitizer that I made for James' teacher she said it was her inspiration piece.
I couldn't have her only admiring it from afar so I made her one too.
This one was slightly different yet just as cute.
What mom doesn't need hand sanitizer when all those visitors come to see the new baby?!
So, do tell, what do you think??

God's blessings, Sarah :D

Monkey Hand Sanitizer

Remember all that nervous energy I was telling you about?
It was really going good and strong yesterday so I knew it was time for a crafty creation.
I've seen these super cute hand sanitizers out in the bloggy world.
With all the sickness going around I thought they'd make an adorable teacher's gift.
I had gathered my supplies earlier in the week.
I bought the $1.00 hand sanitizer bottle at the Piggly Wiggly.
Taking the labels off was a chore.
I used Goo Gone but found the best solution to be peeling them off really slow and then pulling off the extra stickiness with Scotch packing tape.

When it came time for decorating, I started with a squiggly rub on border I had on hand.
I was going for a layered look, not lame. ;>
Next I added a set of monkey stickers that James picked out.
His class is Mickle's Monkeys.

I added several ribbons to bring in extra color and texture.
This is the front...

and here's the back.
I couldn't have poor Ms. Mickle looking at an ugly bottle back all day! :D

Now it was time for my new friend to make her grand entrance.
Enter the Crop-a-dile.
Do you have one, and do you love it??
After putting this gal in my buggy several times, and then putting her back on the shelf it was time to add her to my arsenal of crafting supplies!
I used a chipboard tag, added an M sticker, and finished it off with an eyelet opening.
Could I have just used my regular hole punch?
Sure, but it wouldn't have been near as much fun!

Tada, here's my crafty creation born from a Mama who's been a ball of nerves.
I hope Ms. Mickle likes it, because I had so much fun making it!
When I showed it to Andy he kindly smiled and said, how many hours did it take you to make that??
Once I explained that it was more about the therapy that it provided he understood that I just needed a creative escape.
Although next time he suggests that I spend my therapy time cleaning the floors...
GROSS, then I wouldn't have an adorable project smiling back at me! ;>
Really even thought he doesn't get it, he's such a supportive man.

Since I had a couple of stickers left over from my project I decided to coordinate the gift with the gift bag.
It's a problem I know, I love gift wrap!

So, here's my recommendation...
if your looking to kill germs, spend a tiny bit of money, make a crafty creation and give a cute gift, this is the project for you!
God's blessings on your weekend, Sarah :D
